Retaining Wall Installation
Walls that hold back earth and look good doing it
Who It Is For
Retaining walls are right for you if:
- You have a slope or hillside that is eroding
- You want to create level areas in a sloped yard
- You need to hold back soil near your driveway, patio, or foundation
- You want to add visual interest and structure to your landscape
Who It Is Not For
Retaining walls may not be right if:
- The slope is very gradual and erosion is minor — grading may solve the problem
- You need a wall over 4 feet tall — this requires engineered plans and permitting (we can help, but the timeline is longer)
What It Is
What Is Retaining Walls?
A retaining wall is a structure that holds back soil and prevents erosion. We build retaining walls using concrete, concrete block, brick, and stone — depending on the height, load, and your aesthetic preferences.
The most critical part of a retaining wall is what you cannot see: the footing, drainage, and backfill. A wall without proper drainage will eventually fail — that is why we handle the excavation and grading too.
Problems Solved
What Problems Does It Solve?
- Erosion on slopes and hillsides
- Unusable sloped yard — create level, usable space
- Soil pressing against your foundation or driveway
- Water runoff — walls can direct drainage
- Visual appeal — a well-built wall adds structure and beauty
